Panel discussions featuring leading health care authorities will offer insights on business models and innovative solutions to the complex challenges facing health care during a time of intense scrutiny of the industry.

“Duke’s Medical Innovation and Strategies Conference brings together some of the most respected decision-makers in health care today,” said Kevin Schulman, Duke Health Sector Management director and Duke Clinical Research Institute associate director. “The ongoing national dialogue on the future of health care must consider the roles of technology and innovation as vital components in improving the delivery of care while reducing costs. We look forward to some very practical and forward-thinking ideas to emerge from our conference.”

Duke Health Sector Management Professor Gopal K. Chopra said one goal of the conference is for industry and finance leadership to discuss how to innovate and advance the models of health care. “We will be focusing on one of the most significant driving forces for the future of health care: the convergence of wireless technology and consumerism,” Chopra said.
