Duke Recycles is looking for local groups to volunteer work with a service project, Recycle for the Children, during Duke football games this year to raise money for Duke Children’s Hospital and to encourage recycling.

At specified home football games, volunteers help by either distributing Recycle for the Children program information to tailgating fans around the stadium for two hours before kickoff or helping to collect recyclable materials after the game.

Proceeds from the sale of these recyclables are then donated to the Duke Children's Hospital.  All service volunteers receive free admission to the game (including their parents and/or chaperones) and a small gift.

Each groups’ participation is announced over the PA system recognizing them for their participation in this charitable effort.  This service program is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment while helping to support the Duke Children's Hospital.

Volunteers must be at least 10 years of age.  Volunteer opportunities are limited.  For more information, call Arwen Buchholz at 660-1426 or e-mail arwen.buchholz@duke.edu.
