Polar Explorer to Speak at Duke Jan. 24

Durham, NC -- Will Steger, who has explored the polar regions for more than three decades, will speak on the deterioration of polar ice caps due to global warming pollutants at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, at Duke University.
Steger, the National Geographic Society’s first explorer-in-residence, will share photographs and data that document the deterioration he’s observed. A book signing will follow the presentation, which takes place in the Reynolds Theater at the Bryan Center, on Duke’s West Campus.
This event is free and open to the public, but tickets are required and can be picked up at the Bryan Center Box Office; Rooms M117 and 108 in the Davison Building; or at The Regulator Bookshop, 720 9th St., Durham.
