Durham Police on Friday arrested a man accused of assaulting and robbing a Duke University graduate student in her off-campus home shortly before midnight on Wednesday.
David Hill, whose last known address was 1411 Sedgewick St., was arrested around 3 p.m. Friday at the Howard Johnson Motor Inn on Hillandale Road, Durham Police spokesperson Kammie Michael said. Hill is charged with several offenses in connection with the incident, including assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill infliciting serious injury, Michael said.
On Monday, Durham Police charged a second person in connection with the assault. Cinnamon Marie Collins, 36, of Cammie Street, Durham, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, among other counts, Michael said.
After her assailants left her home north of East Campus Wednesday night, the student was able to call 911 and was transported to Duke Hospital for care. She was released from the hospital on Saturday, Duke Police said.
