William Dennis, Sterile Processing Director, Dies

William "Bill" Dennis, director of the sterile processing
department at Duke University Hospital, died Saturday, Jan. 27. He
was 51.
He received multiple awards and recognition for his national,
regional and local leadership, dedication and loyal service to the
American Society of Health Care Central Services Personnel. Dennis
sat on the United Nations Panel for the Environmental Protection of
the Ozone Layer.
Dennis was 2000 president-elect of the American Society of Hospital
Central Service Personnel (ACHCSP) of the American Hospital
Association and was slated to assume the presidency of the society
this year.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 7 in
Duke Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the
North Carolina State University School of Veterinary Medicine, or
to the North Carolina Humane Society. Memorials can also be sent to
Box 3658 DUMC for distribution to those agencies.
