The first " Faith in the Future: Religion, Aging and Health Care in
the 21 Century" conference will be held March 4 and 5
at the Reynolds Auditorium in the Bryan Center.
Participants will hear from a distinguished faculty of experts who
will examine the current and future of health in the population
over 65 years of age and the demands for health care as the
population continues to age. Solutions for providing care for the
elderly by making full use of community resources, such as
municipal and religious organizations, the theological position on
health care of the aging and others in need and the importance of
the relationship between health and religion in later life will
also be discussed.
"Faith in the Future" is jointly sponsored by the Duke University
School of Medicine Office of Continuing Medical Education, Duke
Center for the Study of Aging & Human Development, Duke
Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences, the
Gerontological Society of America, and the John Templeton
Foundation. The deadline for registration is Feb. 16. The cost is
$150 for non-physicians, $250 for physicians. For more information,
